I’m very happy that you’ve stopped by to take a peek at what we’re doing here at Figure Photography Magazine.
I’m launching this site with a healthy selection of articles and information that I hope you will find useful, enlightening, and entertaining. More articles are in the works and will be posted regularly.
At the moment the editorial ’staff’ is nothing but a dream and a rhetorical flourish; the Editor, Blogmeister, Chief Cook & Bottlewasher are all one overworked and underslept Philadelphia photographer, Craig Rothfuss. I’ve been shooting portraiture, dance, theatre and figures for quite some time now, and I’ve wanted to create an online hangout for those artists who don’t need to be told which lens is faster, sharper, or has the best ‘bokeh’. There are about a million sites out there already to discuss such questions; I’m gonna try to keep the discussion at a different level – aesthetics, trends, history, intelligent critique, and hopefully offer some support during those late nights when one thinks “I’ve been at this forever and my work still sucks…”.
I’ve been there. Will be there again, no doubt.
I hope that you will become a part of the FPM online community. I’m looking forward to seeing your photography and hearing your experiences, your comments and your personal insights. So relax, put your feet up and stay awhile – happy to have you here!
