Figure Photography Magazine is a new online resource dedicated exclusively to the ‘fine art’ side of nude and figure photography. Whether your own figure photography is radical or traditional, pinhole or digital, at FPM you’ll find timely articles, opinion, artist spotlights, critical reviews, and (hopefully) inspiration, as well. I hope that you’ll make yourself comfortable here at FPM and enjoy what FPM has to offer. I want to build a place on the web that speaks to the art of figure photography in an enthusiastic and committed way.
SEPTEMBER 2010: Jim Linderman returns to talk in detail about his experiences in self-publishing.
AUGUST 2010: Eric Kellerman is back with a new book review. This time he looks at Ralf Mohr’s ‘Naked Dance and Gymnastics.
JUNE 2010: I’m happy to present a new series by Photographer Bryon Paul McCartney and a new book from author and collector Jim Linderman on 50’s Camera Clubs! Thanks for your continued interest and support of FPM!
Regular readers will notice that I’ve taken the FPM Open Peer Review feature down for the time being, as it has generated little reader interest, as far as I can tell :-(
Let me know if you would like to participate in FPM Open Peer Review ad send some work, and we’ll try it again!
APRIL 2010: Eric Kellerman reviews the latest work from the prestigious photographer Andreas Heumann. This is Eric’s first review for FPM and I’m very happy to present it here. Another FPM exclusive! Thanx, Eric!
February 2010: Michael Barnes has been kind enough to mention FPM on his very popular blog Art Nudes. If you’re not familiar with Michael and his blog, make sure to visit – it will definitely go into your ‘Favorites’ folder! Art Nudes is one of the top spots on the web to find out what’s happening in contemporary figure photography. Thanks again, Michael!
Latest News for Members!
For a little bit of photographic history, check out ‘Paul Outerbridge and the Birth of American Surrealist Cheesecake’. One of the great, if slightly zany, figure photographers of all time, way ahead of his time. Interesting story, for sure, if you’re into art history. Or just into zany nude photography.
FPM will be presenting new Spotlight articles monthly, and, of course, adding lots of other new content, as well. So stay tuned – lots more creative figure photography and inspiration is on the way!
